Sugar and sweeteners
We’re all trying to cut down on sugar but never quite succeed because we are so emotionally attached to it. Priméal sugar is extracted from sugar cane, sugar beet, maple, date palms, agave etc...
Priméal sugars are unrefined cane sugars. Sugar cane is pressed to extract the juice (70 to 80%), which is then used to produce brown, red and golden cane sugar.
This is obtained by concentrating the juice from the heart of a cactus grown originally in Mexico. It has a high sweetness factor, and is used in both hot and cold dishes. Agave syrup is an excellent replacement for sugar in dairy products.
Priméal fructose is extracted using enzymatic processes with no added chemicals. Very useful for non-insulin-dependent diabetics because it has very little effect on glycemia. Fructose can be used to produce lower-calorie sweet dishes because of its high sweetness factor: 1.5 times more than sucrose.
Priméal’s golden cane sugar comes from Brazil
Bio cane sugar, and Bio-Equitable. Our bio cane sugar is obtained from sugar canes cultivated in Paraguay by small producers using the biological production mode. The chain has just be certified Bio-Equitable. Concrete actions are being undertaken locally to improve the standard of living of the local populations.
